Dr Natalie Nunes

Dr Natalie Nunes is a Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in advanced gynaecological and early-pregnancy ultrasound. She trained across several major London teaching hospitals and undertook three years of dedicated research on the ultrasound diagnosis of ovarian tumours and ovarian cancer. Her work demonstrated that high-quality, expert scanning significantly improves diagnostic certainty and guides appropriate management. She was awarded her research degree for this work and has since continued to champion excellence in ultrasound-based assessment.

Dr Nunes is highly skilled in performing detailed pelvic ultrasound, including assessment of complex ovarian masses, fibroid mapping, adenomyosis, congenital uterine anomalies and early-pregnancy complications such as ectopic pregnancy. She has a strong clinical interest in improving diagnostic accuracy to reduce unnecessary invasive procedures and to support personalised, evidence-based care for women presenting with pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding or fertility concerns.

She is also a recognised leader in innovative fibroid management, having established and led a major Sonata® transcervical fibroid ablation programme. Her integration of precise imaging with minimally invasive treatment options has enhanced patient pathways and recovery for many women. She lectures regularly on early-pregnancy imaging, fibroid care and advances in diagnostic gynaecology.

In 2025, Dr Nunes was honoured as the CAHN Black Healthcare Awards Women’s Health Practitioner of the Year, recognising her outstanding contribution to women’s health, innovation and patient-centred care.

Dr Nunes combines her ultrasound expertise with a commitment to compassionate, patient-focused practice and high-quality clinical decision-making. Her broad experience in scanning, diagnosis and modern, uterus-sparing treatment enables her to provide comprehensive and thoughtful care across the full spectrum of gynaecological presentations.
